Meet Thomas Jefferson:
Our old neighbors have a dog named Thomas Jefferson. He loved to escape and come over and visit. We would play ball in the backyard and he would just run around and enjoy his freedom. Half the time I would be getting in the car to go someplace and I would look over and there's Thomas Jefferson. He also liked to visit one of the other neighbors, who have 2 dogs. One is a poodle, so he's got himself a girlfriend.
Douglas and I had a game we liked to play where we would guess which animal we would see first when we came outside. Our options (what we've seen on the property) were bunny, squirrel, lizard, snake, mouse, bird (or more specifically roadrunner, hawk or turkey vulture), deer and Thomas Jefferson. When we tell people our game and they don't know the background, they are usually confused as to how we can spot Thomas Jefferson outside.
A couple weeks ago, we noticed a brand new batch of baby squirrels. Boy, were they cute! I've never seen anything so tiny and adorable!
Two things I'm gonna miss about our old place:
The view of Lake Hodges
and
Thomas Jefferson
